Ali Woodson:
First to Come on Board New Show Passes Away.
Ali Woodson, or Ollie as he was also affectionately called led the legendary Motown quintet The Temptations in the 1980s and '90s and helped restore them to their hit-making status with a song he co-wrote, co-produced and sang with the Temptations the 1984 hit 'Treat Her Like a Lady.' He also sang other Temptations favourites such as 'Lady Soul' and 'Sail Away'. Ali Woodson passed away, Sunday in southern California, he was 58 years old, after battling cancer. With his positive attitude and bright outlook on life you would have never guessed he was ill.
Andre Pittmon, Music, TV, Film Producer, and Creative V.P. for the Sheila O Show said," I am humbled by the work of the most high Father; he knows whats best for us all. Ollie was a strong man who held up the banner for R&B Music, I had the privilege of working with him on a new reality show called Rebirth his was the first to come on board with the concept.
This show will be dedicated to him and our entire music heros. Treat Her Like a Lady was the anthem of a lifetime and the rule to follow. Ali you will be missed my Brother; but the Holy Father needed another Temptation in the golden city. Rest, Rest, Rest in the arms of the King.
Billy Wilson, president of the Motown Alumni Association told the Associated Press, "He had this swagger about himself, he was cool. He had a coolness about himself that was really very inviting.
"If we ever asked him to do anything, he
never said, 'Well, it's going to cost you.'
He'd always say, 'Yeah, let's go'. He was
just a star performer. Wonderful person.
Wonderful, wonderful person. He was
very kind."
Ali Woodson enjoyed a successful solo
career and also made several film
appearances. He is survived by his wife
Juanita and his children.
We at the Sheila O Show will miss him
greatly!
